“This was a fantastic experience! The information provided about everything Sumo was great, and to be served a delicious meal while listening was very organised. They also let you order as many serves of food as you wanted. Many laughs were had as each of the wrestlers had fun with each other and joked with the audience. A fantastic night I’d highly recommend.”

3.the SUMO show

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,960 reviews · from $89Top rated

Meet retired sumo wrestlers in Tokyo for a lively show, hands-on bouts, sumo lessons, photos, tonkatsu, and chanko soup.

“This was a fun and entertaining experience. The host was great and the wrestlers were entertaining and friendly. I wouldn't say it was a deep dive of sumo but a cursory history and overview which I didn't mind and knew going into it. I appreciated the opportunity to engage as much or as little, along with the photo op for my family. The food was good and I only wished I could have ordered a huge bowl of the soup vs the tonkatsu because it was so tasty.”

“We were lucky to be the only ones there. Thank you to the staff for joining in so it wasn't awkward. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Found a sake I like. Learned a lot about Sumo from two very entertaining wrestlers and the MC who had pretty much perfect English. Got to dress up. The geisha dance was gorgeous. All the tiny movements. I think I understand the appeal of Sumo and Geisha now. The souvenirs were lovely too, and we bought a few more. I wasn't expecting all the photos and filming which was very helpful. We are not used to being the centre of attention but they…”
